Buried sin

How do you like my new car?

I got it when I bought the property it’s on...in. I don’t know how long it has been here. The license tag says 1960, but that doesn’t tell me anything about when it was covered up.

I didn’t know it was here until I took the grandsons ‘exploring.’ They were looking for spiders, snakes, birds, animal tracks, etc. None of us expected to find a car. And, of course, it raises all sorts of questions.  “How did it get there?’ ‘Why is it there?’

That is how it is when I go to the Lord seeking forgiveness. I sometimes find sins I didn’t know were there. ‘Where did that come from?’ ‘How long have I hidden this?’  The junk car that is now land-fill will have to remain where it is, but--Thank You, Jesus--my sins don’t.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Maybe I need to spend more time exploring my heart for buried sin.
What about you?
